Bosworth Battlefield

We had a bit of time today before you’re off on holiday (!) with Mummy & Jessica later on.

It was a sunny start to the day so we went for a walk around Bosworth Battlefield. The visitor centre was still closed (due to Covid-19) but there was still plenty to see around the field including the train station and the well where Richard III is meant to have had a drink from during the battle!

Fruit Picking & Bike Rides

It’s that time of year again when the fruit in the fields gets it lovely red colour and (provided you’ve booked) you can go and pick them!

You were both very good and didn’t want to eat any until after we’d paid – it was nice to see such a strong moral compass 😊

Once we’d got back we met up with Nana and went for a socially distant picnic in the University and just managed to dodge the showers!

Rainy day baking

After a scorching week where you’ve been able to play outside once your school work has been finished, typically it’s got to the weekend and the weather today has been decidedly mixed!

Never the less after a lazy start to the day we did some baking with Mocha (coffee and chocolate) cup cakes. There was a stage when we had to mix coffee into the eggs which was a bit strange, hence the face…. You chose an icing colour each, with you going for pink, and then decorated them – they tasted pretty good too!

The Passing of Peanut

You were very upset today to find out that Peanut had died overnight. Initially you’d spotted that he hadn’t eaten his food, but on closer inspection you had seen him at the bottom of his cage.

Whilst you were upset I was very proud of how you handled yourself and you obviously cared a lot for him.

We will find a stone this weekend and you can decorate it as a memento of Peanut to keep in your room or to pop in the garden.

PE Work

One of your weekly tasks was to design a circuit to get you out of breath! You chose to do it outside incorporating lunges, hopscotch and running on the spot – you even managed to rope someone else in as well 😉

End of Easter Egg Hunt

It’s the penultimate day of the Easter fortnight and I thought it would be a nice way to end with an extra egg hunt.

You both waited patiently in the living room whilst I hid a couple of eggs in nearly every other room of the house.

You both had fun finding them and I didn’t need to give you too many clues, albeit you weren’t able to find them all without!

Banana muffins

It’s been the Easter holidays for the past fortnight (not that it makes much difference to your daily routine under lockdown) and you and Jessica have, on the most part, played really nicely together whilst I’ve been working from the house.

Today over lunchtime you were able to make some banana muffins with a little bit of help from me and some less helpful help from Jessica… As you can see they turned out really well, and tasted as good as they looked!

Official lockdown!

Due to the Coronavirus which has been sweeping the world (the first pandemic the world has experienced for a long long time) we now have to stay in the house as much as possible and school is cancelled.

You’re now spending all week at home with school setting you work to do whilst you’re here. Hopefully it won’t last too long but at the minute we jut don’t know. We’ve been trying to make the best of it by doing lots of different activities like chalking on the drive, playing with bubbles and getting the paddling pool out!
